Underground- where the truth can be found…

Jay Electronica aka Je’Ri Allah or Jay Elect is often recognized for his association with Erykah Badu. The two have been dating for a few years and have a daughter together named Mars Merkaba. Although with a continuous underground build up buzz since 2007; Jay’s wildly original style of rapping, infused music segment movements and spoken word of such artist as Just Blaze, Erykah, Nas and other mentionable followers of the artist only lend to the authenticity of his work.

Hiphopdx.com in 2008 called him "arguably...the most talked about new emcee last year ... at times...more like a myth or urban legend than an actual rapper"

This underground artist is exceedingly pushing his way to surface amongst the main stream which I find to be bittersweet in hopes that he continues to claim the greatness the spotlight can so quickly fade away within the “Machine”.

For me this translates to a beautiful piece of something I’ve never felt within music; as I am still a true believer of profits he holds close to filling any molds.
