I Will Not Giv It In A Car, I Will Not Giv It In A Bar, I Will Not Give U My Real Name (06/07 Archive)

Man walks in the door to deliver package
Very poised women with big beautiful smile sitting at the front desk accepts the package,
*signs* to which she receives the package and a startled reply of "What's your name???"
"My Name Is X-Y-Z" she replies ... "”That's your name, your REAL name?"
She smiles and assures him it is, and for what it’s worth she has learned long time ago
to just stick to her last name, because unfortunately people can't handle the truth... then again could she blame them?

It was her name, it fit her perfectly... Although she had been teased throughout the years of it
she secretly learned to love it without bound because let’s face it, It was unique, it made her stand out in a crowd,
and even people she didn't know...  knew her.  It was the name!

There was also responsibility that came with this name, she often times had to put out a disclaimer before answering the simple question "What's Your Name?"
"Uhh, before I do... First off YES it is my real name, NO I'm not a stripper,
and although it COULD come off being ghetto fab, I wear this name ...so its far from the above
and please no attempts @ the name because YES I have heard them ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

Although frustrated, at this point the delivery person just HAS TO KNOW THIS WOMANS NAME
(Could the name she wrote on the slip be true?)... To which they receive "My Name Is X-Y-Z"
"SAY WORD?!" and "I LIKES!" soon follow or some other choice words, but they usually admire her
and how she actually does pull it off ... She is an X-Y-Z, there is no other name for her
and her parents really did have the ballz to pass it on to her... But they knew what they were doing.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?
For some it's the moon, sun and the stars... Usually people take on the characteristics of their names
or their names take on the personality of the person.
And some names have no reason to have seen the light of day or rather a birth certificate.
What are the ULTIMATE NAMES you have come across in your lifetime?
And would you say your name perfectly fits U? If not what would it be?
"HEY YA'LL LOOK AT MY NEW BABY GIRL CHEETOS!" *lmao* I'm just saying...
Tag it's your turn

Signed,
Ms. X-Y-Z**

Living with a Mystery... The MS Factor

A close friend of mine who as I mentioned to her more recently is always supporting life (cause and effect), is backing and reaching out for support with yet another worthy cause CLIMB TO THE TOP. Climb to the Top is a unique stair climbing event that raises funds to help more than 10,000 New York City, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan and Westchester residents affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) everyday.

Multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease of the central nervous system has no known cause or cure. Having this disease consists of varied symptoms: blurred vision, laps of memory and severe bouts of vertigo enabling you to keep your balance; interfering with the simple task of walking or climbing stairs and in severe cases can be life threatening. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

This subject is personal to me, my baby brother a 24yrear old father suffers from MS for the past 5yrs now; although it is not a completely debilitating disease it is definitely a life changing diagnosis that for young adults comes across more psychological in stunting social growth that can be seeded by the insecurity of self and learning to live life all over again. With no known cause or cure is just the cap of a very frustrating life diagnosis.

Let's keep the spirit of giving going into the New Year. Thanks for taking the time to read this and any contributions will be greatly appreciated. Below is a link with more information on the charity event and instructions on how to donate.
Thank you's and dedication to: Ms. Checo and Jah (Love you both)

It is what it is...

FAR AWAY OFFICIAL VIDEO *FULL VERSION* MARSHA AMBROSIUS

B
ased on a true story Marsha depicts the lost of her best friend who took his own life due to bullying and homophobia. This video tells the story of how family and friends instantaneously related their relationship as that of a couple and their reaction and accepting manner to the two vs. the reaction of people when he was actually out and in the presence of his boyfriend.
The outcome of the pressure resulted in his suicide. The imagery is deep, a tell-tell story that is being told time and time again… In the world God is love-
There is no love where there is hate…

*SPOTLIGHT* BLACK INK TATTOOS: Bringing it UPTOWN - HARLEM EDITION

I walked into this establishment on the most absolute perfect of summer days about 2yrs back on a whim that I would walk out with my master tat I had been designing in my head over a 5yr stint. But to my surprise as I hoped BLACK INK TATTOOS was not just another Cracker Jack stencil hole in the wall.

Down 4 concrete stairs in the midst of a Harlem block I stepped into the officialality of Black Ink.
I was greeted by a dark toned brother whose personality and smile popped; all of which gives you the feel of someone you know or grew up with. Staffed with diverse management and artist with and intimate knowledge and network of “The Business” as it relates to media, arts, and culture and transcends to the city streets and boardroom offices, the draw lending to its eclectic mix of clients… And so began my love affair with BLACK INK.

An advate fan of the intimate spot you get the feel you can breeze through anytime to catch a great piece of ink by some of the best artist on an NYC block, a "What-up!" or just the explicit vibe of some of the most bangin "Tat Parties" and "Exclusive Art Gallery Events" of established and upcoming artist. You can always expect that bit more @ Black Ink.
